FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Performs For U.S. Sailors In Japan: Video Report

On November 20, sailors and families at Fleet Activities Yokosuka, a United States Navy base in Yokosuka, Japan, were treated to a special FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH concert hosted by MWR and Armed Forces Entertainment at Purdy Gym. Check out a video report from AFN Pacific below.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH recently issued a new video for the song "Wrong Side Of Heaven" in which the band shone a spotlight on the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder and the plight of homeless U.S. military veterans. The clip focused on a specific group of soldiers and how they adapt once returning home, with varying degrees of success.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has traveled overseas several times to play shows for U.S. troops, and singer Ivan Moody told The Pulse Of Radio a while back that bringing music to American soldiers stationed far from home is is something he takes very seriously. "They're just so grateful, and so many of them are just sitting around right now and just want to come home and be with their family and friends, so just to sit there and have that connection with them, man — it made this whole year, whatever happens, you know, down the road or whatever's happened in the past, it made it all worthwhile," he said.

The band said in a statement about the video: "We wanted to do something impactful to help our veterans in need. With this video and the accompanying campaign we hope to shed more light on the seriousness of their issues. The statistics are shocking, and if any change is to take place it will start with general public awareness. We have been playing numerous military shows but wanted to do more; educate, reach out and donate to the organizations that are making a difference to better the lives of our veterans."

The clip ends with a list of military-based organizations the band supports that scroll over the final credits of the video.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH also launched a new web site, www.5fdp4Vets.com, where veterans with PTSD can find contact info for more support.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH visited Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas in August to meet with military personnel for a signing, video screening and talk.
